Texila Encourages the Evacuated Indian Students from Ukraine

Texila American University (TAU), one of the reputed Medical Schools in the Caribbean, has introduced the Credit Transfer Availability for the students who pursue Medicine & Nursing programs. This implies that even if the students have completed their first year of Medicine & Nursing in other Universities, they can advance their education at TAU.

The crisis that was initiated in Ukraine between the pro-Russian separatists and government forces over the past few days has completely changed the phase of the country, especially for the Indian students who are pursuing the medical studies in the Ukraine Medical Universities. It is estimated that the Indian embassy has evacuated around 1000 nationals from Ukraine who have not completed their education programs.
Under the lateral entry program of the Texila American University, the students can join at the middle of the program to complete their education in the relevant trade in Medicine, Nursing & Pharmacy. The Indian as well as International students who were evacuated from Ukraine will be benefitted from this Credit Transfer System as they can complete their courses via TAU to earn the relevant Degree.

“We have been writing our examinations. It’s not over yet. But officials had asked us to leave the country”, (article source: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/Indian-pupils-asked-to-leave-Ukraine-as-violence-intensifies/articleshow/36022617.cms ).

Each year, there are at least hundreds of aspiring physicians studying medicine abroad who consider credit transfers in different Medical Schools. The diverse pool of medical students includes both foreign nationals studying at various institutions with aspirations of practicing in the United States and U.S. citizens and residents.

Normally, the Medicine Programs at TAU will be of 5.5 years duration. But if the student has already completed the 1st or 2nd year in any University, they can pursue the rest of education at TAU through the Credit Transfer. Transfer students must meet all documentation requirements of a new student and must be in good academic standing. The University benefits when students graduate in a timely manner because it can educate more students with the same resources or use the resources to improve services.
